Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann
Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann is an Australian comedian, author, TV and radio presenter.
Lehmo began his career as an accountant until he realised doing people’s taxes was boring and decided to give comedy a crack.
He started performing at comedy clubs and then entered Red Faces coz he needed the $500 prize money. But, unfortunately, he came dead last after scoring a zero from judge, Red Symonds.
Luckily, that very public failure wasn’t enough to keep him down and he continued to pursue his comedy dreams eventually ending up as a radio host on Southern Cross Austereo. He’s also appeared on television shows including The Glass House, The Project, Hughesy, We Have A Problem and Utopia.
In this episode Lehmo talks about the fact that working in media can feel like you’re caught in a rip, the time he lost a radio competition to Sam Mac, the reason he didn’t think he’d be able to make a living as a comedian and why people back in his hometown still call him ‘turd’.
