Sylvia Jeffreys

Sylvia Jeffreys is an Australian journalist and newsreader.

Sylvia began her career in media at the Nine Network in Brisbane as a script assistant while she was completing a Bachelor of Journalism at the University of Queensland.

In 2008 she began filing lifestyle stories on Queensland’s Extra program before being appointed as the weekend weather presenter on Nine News Queensland.  And in 2012 Sylvia moved to Sydney to join Today as a reporter before taking over from Georgie Gardener as newsreader in 2014.

In this episode, Sylvia Jeffreys talks about the fact that even the most professional journalists have Anchorman moments, why she thinks it’s a great time to be a woman in media and why she declined an offer from Richard Branson to read the Kama Sutra in the bathtub.
