WHO THE HECK AM I?
My name is Rachel Corbett and I’ve spent two decades working professionally in media, specialising in podcasting and radio.
I’m a bit of a jack of all trades so here’s a little summary of what I do…
I’M AN AUDIO EXPERT
I’ve worked in front of the mic hosting and producing radio shows for some of the biggest networks in Australia and I’ve been at the helm of over ten podcasts including Google Australia’s first podcast, Rethink.
I’ve also worked behind the scenes as Head of Podcasts for two major audio networks.
From 2017 – 2020 I was Head of Podcasts for Mamamia, where I grew the network from 15 to over 35 shows, the team from two to nine producers and quadrupled the audience to over 1 million unique listeners a month and over 90 million downloads.
We were lucky enough to win a few awards for some of the podcasts I built there including Best Use of Podcasts at the Native Advertising Awards 2021 & 2020 for That’s Incredible and The Split, Best Business & Marketing Podcast at the Australian Podcast Awards 2019 for Lady Startup and Best Podcast of 2019 for The Quicky at the Mumbrella Publish Awards 2019.
And I’m currently the Head of Podcasts for Nova Entertainment where I’m building out their original podcast network creating shows like The Space and Brenda, Call Me!
So, if you’re looking for someone who knows what they’re talking about when it comes to best-practice podcasting, both behind and in front of the mic, you’ve come to the right place.
I’M AN ONLINE COURSE CREATOR
After years spent hosting and producing radio shows and podcasts for professional media organisations, I wanted to wrap everything I’d learned up into a step-by-step course to help people who wanted to start their own podcast but didn’t know how.
PodSchool is a comprehensive course, you can do at your own pace, that takes you through everything you need to know to create a show, build an audience and bring money in the door.
On top of that, it focuses on how you can apply tips and tricks used by professionals to help connect with your audience, record killer audio and edit so no one would ever know the show was coming out of your lounge room.

I’M A MEDIA PROFESSIONAL
I’m currently a regular panellist and occasional host on Channel 10’s nightly news show, The Project and have worked as a TV presenter/panellist on shows including Q&A, Have You Been Paying Attention, The Morning Show, Weekend Sunrise, The Verdict, The Today Show, Weekend Today, Paul Murray Live and Studio 10.
I’ve also worked as a writer and my words have been read in The Huffington Post, The Daily Telegraph, News.com.au, Mamamia, The Collective, Problogger and Body + Soul.
Despite all this media promiscuity, for the first decade years of my career, I was faithful to commercial radio.
Over on my radio page I go into the kind of detail only my parents asked for but the short version is I spent the best part of a decade moving across the country hosting breakfast shows for stations including Hit 929, Hit 107, Triple M Melbourne and Sea FM Central Coast. Eventually, I found my way back home to Sydney where I spent five years behind the mic at Triple M, finishing up as host of their national drive show, Merrick and The Highway Patrol, with Merrick Watts and Jules Schiller.
